Five steps to advertise your home with Five Pound a House

1. Prepare a description of your property. We recommend that you work on your house description using a word processor before logging on to our site to place your advert. This will allow you to check spelling and also to save your advert on to your hard drive.

2. Take photographs of your property and save them on to your computer. This is easiest with a digital camera, but can also be done using a film camera and then scanning the prints with a flatbed scanner. It is also possible to place your advert without a picture. If you choose, you can then post the photographs to us, and we will scan them and update your advert for you. Information on how to do this will be given once you have placed your advert.

3. Re-size your photographs using our purpose-written utility. This program has been written with speed and ease of use in mind, and will ensure that your pictures are the ideal size and format for display on this web site. It only takes a few minutes to do this, and it also ensures that your photographs will take the minimum amount of time to upload to our server. Please read our image guide for the download link and instructions.

4. Register with Five Pound a House. We require your name, address and email address, before you can place an advert or contact a vendor. Please note that when placing your advert you can prevent your full address from appearing on it.

5. Enter your property details in our place advert form. If you prepared your description in a word processor first, then you can copy and paste this on to our form.

   After doing this, up to eleven pictures may be added to your advert by selecting the Pictures icon.
